Texas National Guard support vehicles approach a flooded roadway near Huntsville, Texas, Oct. 18, 2018. Texas Guardsmen worked alongside Texas Task Force 1's flood-search and rescue teams and local authorities to help Texans in need during severe flooding Oct. 17, 2018, through Oct. 22, 2018. During this same time period, other Texas Guard units and TX-TF1 teams mobilized to Texas' central and southern regions that also experienced flooding as the result of record-breaking amounts of rainfall across Texas during the September and October months.
