Los Alamitos, Calif., native, Sgt. Alex D. Gallegos was pinned on to the rank of sergeant by Sgts. Jerry Metcalf and Justin Williams, who are infantry skills instructor for the training and instructor group of the unit. Gallegos entered active military service in November 2005, and is currently serving as an infantry skills instructor at Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group in Virginia Beach, Va.
