FORT BENNING, Ga. (Oct. 19, 2018) -- Maj. Gen. Gary Brito, commanding general of the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence, leads units from across post in an early morning run to celebrate the Fort Benning Centennial, Oct. 19, 2018. Fort Benning, formerly Camp Benning, was established Oct. 19, 1918 as a site to train Soldiers on Infantry skills and tactics. Today, the post provides trained and combat–ready Soldiers and leaders; develops the doctrine and capabilities of the maneuver force and individual Soldier; and provides a world-class quality of life for Soldiers, civilians and Army Families.
