Del Rio-- Guardsmen part of Joint Task Force Guardian Support meet their new commander, Lt. Col. Javier Rosales Jr., Sept. 10. Rosales recently took command of El Paso-based 3rd Battalion, 133rd Field Artillery Regiment, and their area of responsibility with the southwest border mission. The commander and Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. Marcus Dominguez did a general welfare check on service members deployed away from headquarters; getting familiar with the unique mission and individual jobs the Guardsmen perform while supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Rosales brought two full-time civilian counselors with him to make sure the troops know about their services, helping soldiers and their families should the need arise.
