Marines, airmen and Norwegian soldiers work around the clock to load emergency equipment on to C-17 U.S. Air Force Globemaster III aircraft to ship to Eastern Turkey, in response to the 7.2 magnitude quake in that left thousands homeless. Marines assigned to U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe, along with airmen with 62nd Airlift Wing based out of Joint-Base Louis-McChord, Wash., and the Norwegian soldiers assembled 16 pallets loaded with 369 arctic tents, 369 space heaters and 369 fuel cans – totaling more than 91,000 lbs., Oct. 31. The gear they delivered was stored at the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program-Norway. MCPP-N provides a responsive source of equipment and supplies for Marine Corps operations, to include humanitarian assistance, in the European theater.
