A Japanese local dressed in a “Tengu” costume poses for a photo during the 62nd Iwakuni Matsuri parade in Iwakuni City, Japan, Oct. 21, 2018. The Great Tengu, or “Daitengu,” is an imposing semi-human whose prominent features are a long nose and large wings. Their special skills include control of wind, swordsmanship and flight. Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni personnel, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force service members and civilians also participated in the event by dancing in a parade through the city. During the event participants interacted with locals, exchanged cultures and customs, and built and strengthened relationships. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Mason Roy)
