VP-46 is currently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet and U.S. 7th Fleet Areas of Operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. While in this region, VP-46 is supporting naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
