U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Shane Woods, a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) chief and U.S. Army Sgt. Jay Bryant, a HIMARS gunner, both assigned to Alpha Battery, 3rd Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment (HIMARS), 18th Field Artillery Brigade, Fort Bragg, N.C., prepare to board a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules at Fort Greely, Alaska, Oct. 19, 2018, during Red Flag-Alaska 19-1. Their unit was tasked to provide long-range artillery support during RF-A, allowing the unit to showcase its capabilities and develop relationships with other services. Transporting the M142 HIMARS in a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules requires deflating the tires and lowering the suspension. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Jonathan Valdes Montijo)
