Chief Warrant Officer Eric Boulware receives a flag from Petty Officer 2nd Class Garreth Wippel during plane-side honors for Seaman Aaron Joppru on the tarmac of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Oct. 26, 2018.

Before and after the flag is passed, Boulware and Wippel saluted one another with the deliberately slow three-volley salute, a ceremony act that originates from the European dynastic wars.
