NORTH ATLANTIC (Oct. 10, 2018) The Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth's (R08) air weapons party members prepare a Paveway II bomb, Oct. 10, 2018. Following the loading of the ordnance, the bombs were dropped from F-35B Lightning II fighter jets conducting flight trials aboard Elizabeth. Dropping the 500-pound bombs in the Atlantic has enabled the trials teams from the Integrated Test Force (ITF) to see how the jets behave at various weights including asymmetric loading, achieving crucial test points and widening the operating envelope for the jets onboard.
