U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jordan Thompson, assigned to the Defense Imagery Management Operations Center, uses a pirate costume knife to relocate an injured bird at Fort Meade, Maryland, Oct. 31, 2018. The bird flew into a structure and was barely responsive when Thompson found it. Thompson moved the bird out of the way of foot traffic, where it gathered its wits and flew off moments later.
