Staff Sgt. Brian Beem, an amputee and cavalry scout with the 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, looks on as Col. Todd R. Wood, commander of the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, talks about the true meaning of Beem's re-enlistment. Beem lost his leg during a deployment to Iraq in 2006. Despite the loss of his leg, Beem continues to serve with his fellow cavalry soldiers.
