German Minister of Defense, Ursula von der Leyen visited the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force today, to which Germany is the main contributor. During exercise Trident Juncture they will be certified for the NATO Response Force 2019.
With around 50,000 personnel participating in Trident Juncture 2018, it is one of the largest NATO exercises in recent years. Around 250 aircraft, 65 vessels and more than 10,000 vehicles are involved in the exercise in Norway.
