First Sgt. Shay Henry’s daughter walks with him to Hangar 105, Nov. 5. Marines and sailors from the advance parties of 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment and 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment recently returned to Marine Corps Base Hawaii from a seven-month deployment in Afghanistan. Henry, the former company gunnery sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, was promoted to first sergeant, Nov. 7. Shay and his son-in-law returned from deployment on the same day.
