French marine Pfc. Frederic Perin, 21st Marine Regiment, blows in the lungs of a goat being held by French Marine Cpl. Fabien Esnault, 5th Infantry Overseas Battalion instructor at the Desert Survival and Combat Course, Nov. 2. The instructors showed students how to tell if a goat is healthy enough to eat by blowing into the lungs and making sure both lungs inflate. The DSCC taught French marines and U.S. service members to find and prepare food and water in a desert environment.
