Capt. William Cannon, a native of Poulsbo, Wash., is promoted from the rank of captain by Col. Michael Kershaw, commander, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) out of Fort Drum, N.Y., at a ceremony at Camp Striker, Iraq, July 1. Cannon serves as a platoon leader for Task Force Vigilant, an ad-hoc battalion which provides security for the Victory Base Complex near Baghdad, Iraq.
