181108-N-UX013-1026 ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 8, 2018) Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 3rd Class Cole Cruikshank stands on the flight deck of the French frigate FS Courbet (F712) after an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the “Vipers” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 48 attached to the guided-missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109), successfully lands as part of a three week integration of the Courbet with Task Force 55. Jason Dunham is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
