Marines ram home a 155mm round into an M777 howitzer during live-fire training here Nov. 12. The Marines are from Hotel Battery, a reserve unit headquartered in Richmond, Va., currently attached through the Unit Deployment Program to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Each Marine on a gun section has a specific role in order for the gun to operate smoothly. 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines is conducting Artillery Relocation Training Program 11-3, a regularly scheduled exercise designed to enhance the unit’s combat readiness.
