NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Nov. 13, 2018) Ensign Nicholas Spaleny, from Kalamazoo, Michigan, USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) assistant public affairs officer, is congratulated by Capt. John J. Cummings' hand, Ford's commanding officer, after reciting the oath of office during a promotion ceremony held in the ship's in port cabin.
