181110-N-TP834-0010 (Nov. 10, 2018) ATLANTIC OCEAN – Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class Jarib Jimenez, from Bronx, N.Y., conducts a maintenance check on a .50-caliber machine gun aboard Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001). The future USS Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001) is the second ship in the Zumwalt-class of guided-missile destroyers. Michael Monsoor is currently transiting to San Diego, and, upon arrival, will begin a combat availability and then undergo a combat test period.
