Lucinda Jacobs carries the American flag through a 30-foot mud pit, carefully raising the flag over each banner to keep it from touching the ground. Approximately 3,500 people from all over the world participated in the 14th Annual World Famous Mud Run. The 10K run contained multiple obstacles including two five-foot walls with mud on both sides, a mud tunnel crawl and the 30-foot mud pit. Revenue generated from the run supports quality-of-life programs for Marines, Sailors and their families. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Daniel R. Mennuto)
