New Jersey Army National Guard Soldiers check equipment in preparation for operations on August 27. More than 2,400 New Jersey Army and Air National Guard troops have been mobilized to assist civilian authorities responding to Hurricane Irene. New Jersey National Guard leaders have established command centers in Lawrenceville and Warren Grove and launched 24-hour operations on Thursday to position personnel, equipment and supplies at armories and installations at key locations including Teaneck, Somerset, Morristown, Riverdale, West Orange, Freehold, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Pomona and Vineland.
