Senior Airman Erin Johnston, in the flight deck, and Airman Courtney Sonnentag, 363rd Training Squadron armament weapons apprentice course students, perform a function check on the A-10 Thunderbolt II's GAU-8 Avenger Cannon at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, Nov. 1, 2018. Johnston is playing the role as pilot as she tests the controls to see if they perform correctly.
