    The Civil War gallery at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, contains a detailed model of the USS Cayuga. She was an Unadilla-class screw gunboat commissioned in 1862. The Unadilla-class of gunboats were constructed by the Union Navy at the outbreak of the Civil War, and took part in coastal and river operations. Over the course of the war, 23 of would be built; each with a complement of 114 men and armed with an 11-inch Dahlgren gun, 2 twenty-four pounder smoothbore guns and a pair of twenty pounder parrott rifles.
