The crew aboard a 47-foot Motor Life Boat from Station Tillamook River crosses the Tillamook River Bar near Garibaldi, Ore., Nov. 21, 2018.

The sand bar is especially treacherous in rough weather, but the Coast Guard maintains a constant watch over the bar conditions to keep commercial and private vessels safe, year round.
