JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Washington- A 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) Soldier stands ready to ring the bell for each of the names of the 1st SFG (A) Soldiers and their Canadian Special Forces partners who gave their lives during the Global War on Terrorism. The ceremony, held at the 1st SFG (A) headquarters, commemorates the deactivation of the First Special Service Force in Menton, France on Dec. 5, 1944 and honors those Special Forces Soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
