CHITOSE, Japan -- Takahashi shigemi, A local soy sauce factory tour guide, explains the process of making the sauce to U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to America's First Corps and the 593rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, along with members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), Northern Army, Camp Higashi - Chitose, as part of a cultural learning tour of the factory in support of exercise Yama Sakura 75, December 10, 2018. Yama Sakura is an annual bilateral command post exercise involving the U.S. Military and the Japan Self-Defense Force with the purpose of enhancing U.S. and Japanese combat readiness and interoperability, strengthening bilateral relationships, and demonstrating U.S. resolve to support the security interests of allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
