U.S. Army and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force noncommissioned officers discuss similarities and differences between the two Armies in a cultural exchange before the kickoff of Yama Sakura 75 at Camp Higashi Chitose, Japan, Dec 6, 2018. Yama Sakura is a bilateral command post exercise with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in which U.S. and Japanese forces exchange ideas, techniques, military experience and exercise capabilities in defense of Japan. The exercise highlights the strength of the close, long-standing relationship the United States has with Japan and the JGSDF.
