Lance Cpl. Josh M. Teitsch, a radio technician with 4th Tank Battalion and a San Diego native, collects boxes of toys during the NBC 7 San Diego Toys for Tots toy drive in downtown San Diego Dec. 9. Toys for Tots is a nonprofit charity foundation run by the Marine Corps Reserve. The organization’s mission statement is to “deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.” Marines with reserve units across the nation collect new and unwrapped gifts throughout the months of October, November and December for children during the holiday season.
