An Iraqi M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer fires illumination rounds in support of operations to prevent ISIS militants from fleeing the offensive in the Middle Euphrates River Valley, Nov. 19, 2018, Fire Base Saham, Iraq. 3rd Cavalry Regiment troopers are deployed to Fire Base Saham alongside French and Iraqi artillery units in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. They are working by, with and through the Iraqi Security Forces and Coalition partners to defeat ISIS in areas of Iraq and Syria.
