The official deactivation of the 3670th concludes more than 75 years of federally recognized service dating back to Feb. 24, 1943, when the unit was first constituted as the 309th Ordnance Medium Maintenance Company and subsequently activated into service on June 24, 1943, at Camp Hood, Texas.
