NORFOLK, Va. (June 2017) – Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) mathematician Willie Crank is pictured with members of Dahlgren’s Early Career Technical Advisory Council at a Scientist to Pier event with participants from multiple warfare centers aboard USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109).
NSWCDD announced in December 2018 that Crank is a 2019 Black Engineer of the Year Awards Science Spectrum Trailblazer award winner. “I am deeply honored to have been selected for this award and I want to thank every person throughout my life and career who supported, guided and believed in me,” said Crank in response to the news. “I hope that I continue to not only meet, but exceed the expectations of others and strive to achieve the goals I have set forth.”
