The staff and volunteers of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum converged on the Decker Half Moone Cruise Terminal, located next door to the museum, for their 7th Annual LEGO Brick by Brick Shipbuilding event on Saturday, February 3, 2018. The free event featured over 200+ LEGO models that visitors could try their hands at building, a free play area, a sensory room, a robotics competition, professional LEGO models for visitors to look at, and a LEGO model building competition. This particular event drew in a crowd of over 3,000 visitors in the span of a day. Next year’s event is planned for Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 10am-4pm at the same location, and promises to amaze and awe visitors of all ages. The Hampton Roads Naval Museum is one of ten Navy museums that are operated by the Naval History & Heritage Command. It celebrates the long history of the U.S. Navy in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia and is co-located with Nauticus in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. Admission to the museum is free, simply by-pass the ticket line and take the stairs or elevator to the museum on the second deck. (US Navy Photo by Clay Farrington/Released).
