Lance Cpl. Mitchell L. Young, a field radio operator with Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, moved out of his parent’s home in October 2010 to show he did not need to rely on anyone but himself. Ironically, the Tampa, Fla., native and his fellow Marines rely on each other every day to accomplish their mission. Young often uses humor as a medium to build the bonds of brotherhood with his squad members.
