HARRISON, Ark. – Sgt. 1st Class Joseph G. Brewer, recruiter for the Oklahoma City Battalion, assigned Harrison, Arkansas Station is a proud dad, as his sons Joshua Cole and Joseph Brewer II prepare for Army basic training.
Although Sgt. 1st Class Brewer is currently serving in the U.S. Army as a recruiter, he says that he never coerced his boys to join. “They approached me with it,” said Brewer. “and now both of them are going Airborne with their infantry contracts!”
The decision to join any branch of the military is never easy, but the support at home can be. Parents play a pivotal role in their child's decision to join.
Joseph, 18 and Joshua, 20 graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, Oklahoma and will go through training together. They are expected to leave for Fort Benning, Georgia in the near future.
