Lance Cpl. Martin Roslies, a designated marksman and rifleman with Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, identifies targets during training at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 9, 2019. Roslies, a native of Yuba City, California, graduated from Henley High School in Klamath Falls, Oregon before enlisting in June 2015. Designated marksmen and machine gunners with Charlie Company fired more than 13,000 rounds during the training, refining their abilities with the M240B medium machine gun and M38 designated marksmen rifle as part of BLT 1/4, the Ground Combat Element for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
