The bell from the USS Virginia (BB 13), and a de-milled Mark VI mine (top portion) were some of the larger artifacts that were removed from the gallery of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum by staff members. These larger artifacts are slated to be transported to the Naval History and Heritage Command’s curator branch in preparation for the opening of the museum’s new Vietnam War exhibit; which chronicles the US Navy’s involvement during the war. More information about the museum can be found here https://www.facebook.com/HRNavalMuseum/ (US Navy Photo by Max Lonzanida/Released).
