The Nebraska Military Department’s Special Emphasis Program Group held a diversity potluck luncheon, Jan. 17, 2019, at the Joint Force Headquarters atrium in Lincoln, Nebraska. In celebration of the upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday, the “Dining for a Dream,” event invited Soldiers, Airmen and civilian employees to bring a favorite dish from home and to join in tasting a variety of food flavors representing the many faces and cultures of the Nebraska Military Department. Maj. Gen. Daryl Bohac, Nebraska adjutant general, and Lt. Col. Steve Collins, deputy United States property and fiscal officer for the Nebraska National Guard, shared a few words on King’s legacy and the history of diversity inclusion in the military before the start of the luncheon. The luncheon included a variety of cultural dishes including collard greens, Norwegian cheese, sauerkraut and kolaches, to name a few. (Nebraska National Guard photo by Spc. Lisa Crawford)
