Staff Sgt. Ben Heimes receives a coin from Maj. Gen. Mark Anderson, Deputy Commanding General of Training and Doctrine Command, for his efforts to help the Basic Leadership Course transfer from text books to tablets during the general's visit to Camp Ashland, Nebraska on Jan. 12, 2019. Maj. Gen. Anderson visited the 209th RTI as part of a national tour of the Regional Training Institutes of several states including Nebraska. The general was interested to learn the opinions of the cadre on various programs and what resources the schools of the 209th RTI were utilizing in the courses. Anderson said his intent was to have a dialogue between TRADOC and the RTIs with regards to the opportunities and capabilities the National Guard can bring to the One Army School System.
