190119-N-KT659-1074 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Jan. 19, 2018) Aviation Electrician’s Mate 1st Class Justin Jones and Aviation Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class Madison Milliken, assigned to the “Grey Knights” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 46, consult an instruction manual during maintenance of a P-3C Orion anti-submarine warfare patrol aircraft. VP-46 is currently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet and U.S. 7th Fleet areas of operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. While in this region, VP-46 is supporting naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
