U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 363, the Lucky Red Lions, conduct hoist operations on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Jan. 15, 2019. The purpose of this training is to enhance evacuation capabilities of personnel utilizing the MV-22 Osprey in the event of a military or civilian mishap at sea. The ability to hoist stranded individuals from the water, via tiltrotor aircraft, provides another life-saving response option for Hawaii-based Marines and III Marine Expeditionary Force.
