Lt. j.g. Jacob Mello, assigned to Commander, Task Group 56.1, places a three-block composite C-4 demolition charge next to a 60mm high explosive mortar during demolition operations supervisor training. CTG 56.1 provides mine countermeasure, explosive ordnance disposal, salvage diving, counter-terrorism and force protection for the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
