190128-N-SA412-1089 PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan 28, 2019) -- Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Noel Rulloda, from Chicago, signals the launch of an F-35B Lightning II aircraft belonging to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121 from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). Wasp, flagship of Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
