Paratroopers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division tend to their feet and refuel at the midway point of the inaugural “Vandervoort Mile” on January 25. The “Vandervoort Mile,”, a 25.05 mile ruck march on Fort Bragg, honored the memory and legacy of Lt. Col. Benjamin Vandervoort, commander of the battalion during the WWII invasion of Normandy.
