West Virginia National Guard Capt. Josh Dodson, Operations Officer with the 35th Civil Support Team (CST) Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), instructs West Virginia State Police Academy 177th Basic Class cadets in an overview of CST operations, Jan. 29, 2019, at the St. Albans Armory, St. Albans, W.Va. The CST’s mission is to support civil authorities at a domestic Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear or Explosive incident site by identifying unknown agents or substances, assessing current measures and assisting with appropriate requests for additional state and federal support. Cadets, all from various county and city police agencies from across West Virginia, learned about CST capabilities and equipment, especially as related to drug identification and safety operations they might encounter in the future.
