NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Jan. 28, 2019) Rear Adm. Brian Antonio, Program Executive Officer Aircraft Carriers, center, and Frederick Stefany, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (ships), inspect the advanced weapons elevators during a tour of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). Advanced Weapons Elevator No. 1 was turned over to the ship December 21, following testing and certification by engineers at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding, where the ship is currently undergoing its post-shakedown availability.
