FORT BENNING, Ga- Aliya Butt, a Precision Rifle competitor from Taunton, Massachusetts competes in a Precision Final at the 2019 U.S. Army Junior Rifle National Championships. Butt, would go on to finish 3rd overall in the Precision Rifle class and help her team the Taunton Marksmanship Unit (TMU) Ring Leader place 3rd overall in the Precision Team event held on U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) Pool International Range from Jan. 24-26.
This U.S. Army-sponsored youth marksmanship championship promotes the development of rifle marksmanship skills among American youth and recognizes those who respond to this challenge.
The USAMU supports our nation's youth by fostering junior participation in prestigious state and national rifle competitions, promoting firearms safety, and connecting them with the expertise and professionalism of the Army and its Soldiers.
The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit wins national and international shooting competitions, supports Army accessions, and advances small arms lethality to demonstrate Army marksmanship capability, enhance recruiting and increase marksmanship effectiveness in combat.
