Commanding Officer of Task Group Taji 8 Training Task Unit, Australian Army Lt. Col. Matthew Smith speaks with Commander of the Baghdad Operations Command, Lt. Gen. Jalil during the culminating event performed by an Iraqi Army (IA) battalion at Camp Taji, Iraq, Jan. 23, 2019. Four IA battalions took part in culminating activities, the final test at the end of the 10 week training they received at the School of Infantry NCO 2 (SINCO 2) with oversight from Australian Army instructor assessors from Task Group Taji 8. The Coalition offers training programs include courses in areas as diverse as operational planning, counter-terrorism, logistics and sustainment, equipment maintenance, counter-IED techniques and law enforcement.
