Maj. Joshua Sparling, of Raymond, Maine, and Herbert Colburn, his grandfather, visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Sparling now serves as surgeon to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) out of Fort Drum, N.Y. Herbert fought with the 10th Mountain Division in the Italian Campaign in World War II, where he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal with 'V' device for valor.
