Cpl. Ryan Finn provides aid for a simulated patient aboard a CH-46E Sea Knight with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268 (Reinforced) Jan. 5 during a casualty-evacuation drill. Finn, 24, who hails from Prague, serves as a medic with Battalion Landing Team 3/1, the ground combat element for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The unit is currently deployed aboard the amphibious assault ship Makin Island as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, which is a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force. The group is also providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
